The table below shows water hardness values in “grains per gallon” for several of the communities in our area. These are for general reference only. If you would like to specifically know your current water properties, bring them to us for testing. The numbers below are provided by SaskH2O. You can find the most recent test results for these communities and others in Saskatchewan here.
Grain per gallon (gpg) is a unit of water hardness defined as 1 grain (64.8 milligrams) of calcium carbonate dissolved in 1 US gallon of water (3.785412 L). The degree of hardness standard as established by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (S-339) and the Water Quality Association (WQA) is:
